SRINAGAR: Leader of Opposition Sunil Sharma on Tuesday urged the Omar Abdullah-led Jammu and Kashmir Government to suspend all political activities and devote its full attention to relief, rescue and rehabilitation efforts in the wake of the devastating flash floods that have affected several parts of the Union Territory.
Sharma said the government should prioritise assistance to affected families and ensure the prompt restoration of essential services in flood-hit areas.
He stressed that the immediate focus should remain on relief and rehabilitation, given the scale of damage caused by the recent flash floods and heavy rainfall across parts of Jammu and Kashmir.
The Leader of Opposition also called for coordinated efforts by all departments to provide timely support to affected residents and expedite relief measures in the worst-hit areas.
His remarks come as several districts have witnessed widespread damage due to flash floods, landslides and heavy rain, with rescue and restoration operations continuing in affected areas.
