SWD Workers Hold Anti-Admin Protests, Appeal Governor to Resolve Their Issues

Scores of employees working in Social Welfare Department of J&K government Thursday held a protest demonstration against government for allegedly denying them the salary for past more than one year.

“We are not receiving salary for one and a half year now,” the protestors said.

Having been working for the past 25 years in the department, the workers said, “We are asked that there is no post of helpers in the department, so we cannot give you any salary.”

“The Director social welfare has been showing a very unbecoming and callous approach on our issues,” Firdosa Bano, a protestor said.

Raising anti-administration slogans, the aggrieved employees asked Governor N N Vohra to resolve their issues.
