A Swedish skier was killed while another was rescued by police after an avalanche struck tourist resort of Gulmarg area of district Baramulla on Thursday.
Reports said that a Swedish tourist, identified as Daniel, was killed while another who went missing identified as Benjeman from Sweden was rescued after the avalanche struck near the second phase of Gandola cable car project on Affarwat peak.
“Two tourists came under the avalanche, one of them has died on the spot and another has been rescued by the authorities,” an official said.
