Caring a fig for the health department, the Drug Controller Department Kashmir has provided a license to a sweeper to run a medical shop in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.

A delegation from Aribagh Colony in BK Pora Budgam said that a medical shop at Magraypora Machaw is run by a man who is a sweeper in SKIMS Bemina, erstwhile Jehlum Valley College.

“Barely knowing ABC about the medical profession, this man is running a medical store and has got a proper license from the Drug Controller Department,” they said and sought the intervention of Health Minister.

“A professional doctor attends his medical store while during his absence, the said sweeper himself treats patients,” they said.

“We have no personal animosity with the said person but want to convey a message to Director Health Services Kashmir and Drug Controller Department that they should at least check the credentials of the man before issuing a license to him.

“The locals have in fact lodged a complaint vide number 65607 in the Chief Ministers Grievance Cell but no so far no action has been initiated against him,” they said.
