Senior state Congress leader and Minister for Medical Education, Sports and Youth Affairs, Taj Mohiuddin will discuss the issue of growing lobbyism in the state unit of the party in a meeting with UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi on Monday.

“I will be meeting the Congress President on Monday and apprise her about the vital issue of lobbyism in the state apart from other important issues related to the party in the state”, Taj Mohiuddin told a local news agency, KNS on Saturday. He said it was important that the issue of lobbyism and factionalism is sorted out in the state unit before the upcoming assembly and parliamentary elections ‘as it has the potential to harm the party interest’.

When asked whether he was planning to take up the issue of verbal duel with fellow minister Sham Lal Sharma with the party Chief, he said he had no issues with the PHE Minister. “I have nothing personal against him. However, party comes first and my concern is for the party. Also Discipline in the party is very important. Sonia is our National Party President and any worker or leader of the party can meet her in the interest of the party”, he said.
