Continuing with the series of visits to tertiary care hospitals of the city, minister for medical education, youth services & sports, Taj Mohi-ud-Din Wednesday visited Bone & Joints Hospital, Barzulla, Srinagar.

While directing Medical superintendent of the hospital to ensure that patients are facilitated at every level, Taj directed face-lifting of the hospital complex and expressed dissatisfaction over the level of sanitation in the hospital and asked the hospital administration to put in efforts to maintain cleanliness at the hospital, particularly at places like theatres, wards, corridors.

Later, the Taj had a detailed interaction with HoDs and faculty of the hospital and complimented the staff for managing the huge patient overload.

“State has produced world class doctors who have proved their mettle within the state and outside. Government would provide more and more facilities, including financial assistance, to the hospital so that its functioning is improved and patients don’t have to go outside for treatment,” said Taj.

The minister was accompanied by Commissioner Secretary Health and Medical Education,M. K. Dwivedi, Principal GMC, Srinagar, Medical Superintendent, Bone& Joint Hospital, heads of various departments.
