Srinagar based defence spokesperson Wednesday late evening issued a statement about the attack on its personnel in North Kashmir’s Tanghdar area.

In an alert and swift response to a militant strike, the Army Wednesday killed three militants in Tanghdar thus foiling an attempted suicide attack.
The militants had tried to sneak into an Army Camp in the early hours today firing indiscriminately which resulted in the killing of one civilian and injuring an army personnel.
The militants were effectively intercepted by the Army’s Quick Reaction Teams which hemmed the terrorists in a cordon
Thus preventing their escape. In the ensuing gun fight, three militants were killed.
Three weapons have so far been recovered from the killed militants. Operations are in progress to fully sanitise the area.
