Terming such incidents inhuman and unfortunate, the CPI (M) leader said the society must come out and express itself against such brutal acts of violence. “Violence in all its manifestations is condemnable as violence begets violence.  These incidents of brutality are not acceptable to any civilized society,” he remarked.

Expressing sympathies with the bereaved family, the CPI (M) leader has conveyed his heartfelt condolences to Dar’s family.
Dar was Monday critically injured after suspected militants opened fire on him in Pinglan area of the south Kashmir district. He was shifted to Srinagar hospital for treatment where he breathed his last.

Resident of Rohmu village of Pulwama district,  Dar joined PDP in 2014 when he developed differences with Congress party. Reliable sources said that Dar was a protected person; however, at the time of attack, his security guards were without weapon. “Militants stopped his vehicle and targeted Dar. They didn’t harm security guards,” said a political leader from Pulwama district.

Medical Superintendent SMHS Hospital Dr Nazir Ahmed Chowdary said that he had multiple bullet injuries.
