Coordinator Chief Minister’s Grievance Cell, Tassaduq Mufti, conducted a series of grievance redressal camps in Ladakh region during which he reviewed availability of basic amenities to people of the region.

At Drass, the Coordinator took stock of various developmental works. Issues like winter transportation along with up-gradation of schools, deficiency of staff in hospitals and initiation of helicopter services on daily basis and availability of essential services were discussed threadbare.

During the visit, various deputations of travel agents, hoteliers, students and senior citizens called on the Coordinator and briefed him about their grievances. The Coordinator assured the deputations that the issues raised by them would be taken up and redressed in a phased manner.

Another meeting was held at District Headquarters Kargil where issues pertaining to potable water supply, electricity and street lights were discussed.

A public durbar was also held at Shargole, Kargil where people presented their grievances regarding infrastructure development, improper road connectivity, poor quality of bridges, pendency in payment of flood-affected areas and other issues. A similar kind of camp was held at Khalsi, Kargil.

Tassaduq Mufti also convened a meeting today at Conference Hall DC Office Leh, which was attended by district officers, students, hoteliers, and research scholars. The meeting held threadbare discussions on important issues affecting the region. A delegation represented by Women Hill Council emphasised the need for increasing the women police personnel in the region. The representatives also requested for creating a separate hostel for women in Degree College. The Coordinator CM’s Grievance Cell asked the concerned to expeditiously redress the issues.

The Coordinator also took note of the waste management in the famous Pangong Lake and other tourist areas and directed the authorities to expedite the process of developing public toilets. He also emphasised on creating a mechanism for bringing down the airfares to and from the region to facilitate the people.

A team of Grievance Cell with Additional Secretary, Inam-ul-Haq Siddiqui accompanied the Coordinator during the visit.
