A school teacher was electrocuted in Doda village Friday afternoon dying on spot. Reports said that a government school teacher was doing some repair work of LT line which was hanging over his residence. He had lodged complaint number of times with Power Development Department regarding the problem but the officials of the department did not pay any heed to his complaint.
He has been identified as Nazir Ahmed Tantray, son of Abdul Gaffar Tantray, resident of Ghat in Chenab Valley.
People of the area alleged that the incident took place due to negligence of PDD department and officials of electricity were held responsible for this incident.
PDP district president Shahab ul Haq Batt demanded probe and through investigations in to the matter and stern action against the erring officials whereas Mirza Muzaffar Hussain Beig, Chenab Citizen Forum, head also demanded impartial probe through an independent agency and book the PDD employees for this negligence.
