A teacher was suspended on Friday for assaulting a minor student at a government school Mamar village of central Kashmir’s Kangan area in Ganderbal district.

Reports said that Chief Education Officer Ganderbal Sheikh Gayas ud din, visited the school today, said the accused teacher has been placed under suspension. “It seems that the girl student has been ruthlessly beaten by the teacher. I have ordered his suspension,” said Din.

The action came after the students of Middle School Dard Wuder Mammer and their parents on Friday early morning blocked Srinagar-Leh highway at Mammer area of Kangan tehsil of Central Kashmir Ganderbal district and staged a massive protest demonstration against the teacher for allegedly beaten three students in the school.

Reports said that earlier a teacher at the said School namely Ajaz Ahmad War son of Ali Mohd War resident of Hayan Kangan allegedly beaten three students in the school.

Reports added that the students raised slogans against the school authorities and demanded strict against the teacher.
