Team Set Up to Probe Jaundice Outbreak in South Kashmir Village

   

SRINAGAR: The Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag has formed a five-member probe team after 27 individuals, mostly children, tested positive for jaundice in Gotligund village.

According to an order, the probe will investigate the possible source of the outbreak, as well as preventive and control measures.

The team has been directed to visit the village and submit an action plan to the principal of GMC Anantnag by the end of this month. It has also been instructed to provide necessary healthcare interventions to the affected individuals.

The team will be led by Dr Mahbooba Rasool, Associate Professor of Community Medicine at GMC Srinagar, while Dr Abiroo Jan, Associate Professor of Microbiology, Dr Irfan Gul, Associate Professor of General Medicine, Dr Asif Aziz, Consultant Paediatrics, and Aijaz Ahmad, Health Educator (UHTC Brakpora), will serve as its members.
