Tear Smoke Kills Cop In Pampore

A cop was killed, almost instantly, in Pampore when a tear smoke shell he was carrying blasted in his hands. It triggered massive panic in the area with people mistaking the explosion as another attack, reports said.

The incident was reported from Drang Bal locality which is barely 500 meters away from the Saturday encounter site. Eight CRPF personnel were killed in the encounter along with two militants.

The slain cop was identified as Merajuddin Chopan, a resident of Tral. He was evacuated to the hospital almost instantly.
