Technical Snag at Amargarh Grid Station Leads to Additional Power Cuts

SRINAGAR: A technical fault in a 20MVA, 132/33KV power transformer at the Amargarh grid station on March 1, 2025, has led to a reduction in its capacity from 135MVA to 115MVA. As a result, an 18MW load impact has necessitated additional distress power cuts of 60 minutes, which will be enforced in rotation across all outgoing feeders of the grid station, KPDCL spokesman revealed.
