SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday claimed to have arrested a teenager for allegedly stabbing a man in Chadoora area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district.

A police spokesman said that yesterday, at about 2130hrs, Police in Budgam received information that a scuffle broke out between Mehrosh Parvaiz son of Parvaiz Ahmad Rather resident of Hanjoora and Mohammad Hussain Dar son of Showkat Ahmad Dar resident of Muqam Dadompora in Chadoora area of Budgam.

“During the scuffle, Mohammad Hussain Dar stabbed Mehrosh Parvaiz in his abdomen thereby receiving critical injuries. He was shifted to hospital where his condition is stated to be critical,” said the spokesman.

“Accordingly, a case FIR No. 85/2022 under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Chadoora and investigation was set into motion,” he said.

He added that during the course of the investigation, the accused teenager was arrested and further investigation into the case is going on.

“Our consistent action against anti-social elements should reassure community members that Police is resolved to act tough against such elements involved in any criminal activities so as to keep our society free from the scourge of crime,” said the spokesman.
