SRINAGAR: A teenage boy died after being retrieved from the Doodh Ganga stream near Bulbul Bagh in Srinagar and shifted to hospital in a critical condition on Thursday.
Officials said a police party recovered the boy, believed to be around 16 years old, from the Doodh Ganga near the gauge point at Bulbul Bagh and rushed him to SMHS Hospital in an unconscious condition.
Hospital sources said the teenager was admitted in a critical condition but later succumbed despite medical efforts.
A police official said the identity of the victim was being ascertained. However, sources identified him as Anayat Qasim, a resident of Batamaloo, Srinagar.
Police have initiated proceedings to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident. (KNT)
