SRINAGAR: A 14-year-old boy drowned in river Jhelum in Nawakadal area of Srinagar on Wednesday evening, officials said here.
Quoting official sources the news agency KNO reported that Momin Ahmad (14) of Dal Hassanyar drowned in river Jhelum while taking a bath.
They said that soon after the incident a rescue operation was launched by River Police Srinagar to retrieve the body.
Meanwhile, police is said to have taken cognizance of the incident.
