SRINAGAR: Authorities on Monday ordered an enquiry into the massive fire incident that damaged the district Tehsil office building in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Saturday.

An order, a copy of which lies with the news agency KNO issued by Additional Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Zahoor Ahmad Mir, stated that 4-member committee will probe the matter.

Assistant Commissioner Revenue(ACR) Bandipora, District Statistical and Evaluation Officer Bandipora, BDO Aloosa and DSP (DR) Bandipora have been named as the members of this committee.

As per the order the committee has been asked to furnish a factual report along with recommendations to the district administration Bandipora within next ten days.

Pertinently, district tehsil office building was completely gutted in a fire mishap on Saturday evening when fire erupted from the balcony of the building.

Notably, the second floor of the building was occupied by CRPF and was being utilised by them for store and residential purpose. It is believed that the fire erupted from the balcony of the second floor.
