SRINAGAR: Minimum temperatures again fall in the Kashmir Valley on Tuesday due to clear overnight sky, a Met official said.

“The minimum temperatures dropped further across Jammu and Kashmir today due to cloud cover. These temperatures are likely to drop further as the weather is likely to remain dry and foggy,” he said.

Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, recorded minus 0.9 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature.

The famous ski resort of Gulmarg in north Kashmir, which experienced several feet of snowfall on various occasions last month was the coldest place in Kashmir and recorded a low of minus 11.2 degrees Celsius.

The famous hill resort of Pahalgam in south Kashmir was the coldest place in Kashmir recorded a low of minus 5.3 degrees Celsius.

Kupwara township of north Kashmir recorded a low of minus 1.8 degrees Celsius. Kokernag, in south Kashmir, recorded minus 3.9 degrees Celsius while Qazigund registered minus 1.4, he said.

In the Jammu region, Jammu city recorded 8.9 degrees Celsius, Katra recorded 6.4, Banihal 2.0, Batote recorded 2.4 and Bhaderwah minus 0.5 as the night’s lowest temperatures.
