SRINAGAR: The demise of Moazzam Wani, a promising 15-year-old student and accomplished athlete, has left Tangmarg reeling in grief.

Son of Ghulam Jeelani Wani, Managing Editor Kashmir Images, Moazzam, a student at Tyndale Biscoe School, passed away on April 21 at SMHS Hospital in Srinagar, leaving behind a wave of shock and sadness among family, friends, and acquaintances.

Thousands gathered at Eidgah Chandilora in Tangmarg on Sunday evening to bid farewell to the young athlete, attending his Nimaz-e-Jinazah before he was laid to rest at the family’s ancestral graveyard.

His passing has not only deeply impacted his immediate circle but has reverberated throughout Tangmarg and beyond.

Today, the Wani family home in Chandilora Tangmarg witnessed an outpouring of support and condolences from hundreds of people across Kashmir who came to mourn the loss of Moazzam.

Among those paying their respects were prominent figures from the political landscape, including leaders from JKPC, JKAP, PDP, and NC.

Principal Mabel Yonzon, representing Tyndale Biscoe & Mallinson School, expressed solidarity with the grieving family, extending heartfelt condolences and prayers for strength during this challenging time.

Moazzam, described as a versatile athlete excelling in swimming, badminton, and football, had left an indelible mark not only in sports but in the hearts of those who knew him. His sudden departure has left a void that will be difficult to fill, with condolences pouring in from all corners of Kashmir.

The Fateh for Moazzam Wani is scheduled to be held on April 24 at Chandilora, providing an opportunity for the community to come together once again and pay their respects to a life taken too soon.
