Curfew remained imposed for the third consecutive day Saturday, in the south town of Pulwama.

Curfew was imposed after a militant of the town got killed in Charar-e-Sharief area on Wednesday afternoon.

Touseef, Ahmad Dar, a resident of Prichoo, Pulwama was killed after a brief encounter with army, SOG and CRPF.

“Authorities announced the imposition of curfew by means of loudspeakers early in the morning,” a local resident of Pulwama told Kashmir Life.

The town witnessed severe clashes between the protesters and the police on Thursday, the first day of curfew.

According to locals a large number of police and CRPF deployed in the town and its peripheries are not allowing common people to move out of their homes.

Police sources however said that the restrictions are in place only to maintain law and order.
