In a bid to link diverse democratic alternatives and social change organizations together in webs of mutual recognition and support; a first public convention of proposed ‘Third Front’ is scheduled to be held at Sher-e-Kashmir Park here on October 30.

A press statement from Third Front issued to CNS reads that a  need was felt to connect the grassroots level socio-political aspirations, emerging local movements to forge a broader platform in opposition to the forces with vested interests.October 30, Convention is an initiative in this direction, which aims at giving a chance to development of multi-party cooperation and political consultation in Jammu and Kashmir.

Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami CPI (M) State Secretary, Hakim Mohammad Yasin president PDF and MLA, Sheikh Abdul Rehman former MP and state president Samajwadi Party, Abdul Rashid Kabuli former MP and president JKNDF, I D Khajuria, president IDP,  Abdul Rehman Tukru state secretary CPI and Sanjay Saraf Lok Janshakti Party leader, who recently joined hands to generate a socio-political movement seeking democratic alternatives in the state will address the convention.

“Various resolutions will be adopted, besides announcements made on future course of united activities during the convention.” The statement reads.
