State’s only listed company, the J&K Bank conducted written test for the posts of Relationship Executives (RE) at 92 centres set up across Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh regions. More than 30,000 candidates appeared for the examination held under the auspices of Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS).

Total number of applicants for the position were 35,000 who had applied on-line.Various control rooms were established across the state for smooth and efficient conduct of the test. Special teams constituted by the Bank visited examination centres throughout the duration of test,a spokesman of the bank said.

Chairman and CEO Mushtaq Ahmad also visited some of the centres and expressed satisfaction over the smooth conduct of the examination.“It is a moment of elation for us to see the Bank staff organizing this grand exercise so efficiently and with such a sense of collective responsibility”, he said.

Meanwhile, extending gratitude to all those who contributed to make the day possible, Bank’s President HRD Abdul Rauf Bhat said, “We are grateful to all the educational institutions, their staff, state police and every individual who made this valuable exercise possible.” He thanked IBPS and its observers for their support.

The recruitment drive is part of the Bank’s consolidation process following its aggressive expansion policy while inching closer to its FY-13 targets i.e. one lac crore business and one thousand crore profit.
