SRINAGAR: Referring to Operation Sindoor, launched in response to the recent Pahalgam terror attack, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had taken decisive steps to secure the country. “During the Congress rule, the country witnessed terror attacks almost every day,” he said.
He said that after the Uri attack, a surgical strike was conducted. Following the Pulwama attack, an airstrike was carried out. In the wake of the Pahalgam incident, Operation Sindoor was launched to target terrorist camps inside Pakistan.
Shah said these actions sent a clear global message that India’s territory, citizens, and armed forces would be protected, and any aggression would be met with consequences.
Speaking at a Cooperative and Employment Festival held to mark the International Year of Cooperatives, the Home Minister added that under Modi’s leadership, India had moved from the 11th to the 4th largest economy, with 27 crore people lifted above the poverty line.
