SRINAGAR: Three persons were injured after a car met with an accident near the Phalata area of Udhampur district in Jammu and Kashmir during the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday, officials said.
Sources said a Maruti Baleno bearing registration number HP62C-1297 was travelling from Jammu towards Udhampur when it was being driven in a rash and negligent manner. Upon reaching near a police naka at Phalata, the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle, causing it to hit a parapet and crash.
As a result of the accident, the driver and two other occupants sustained serious injuries.
All the injured were immediately shifted to Government Medical College (GMC) Udhampur for treatment, where their condition was stated to be critical.
Police said an FIR bearing number 14 of 2026 under Sections 281 and 125(a) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita has been registered in connection with the incident. (KNT)
