Three dead, two injured due to electrocution in north Kashmir

Three persons died and two others were injured on Tuesday late night due to an electric short circuit in Nad village of Tangdhar in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

Reports said that the five persons suffered serious injuries when a high tension power supply line fell on a local power supply line causing an electric short circuit at around 3:00 am at Nad village of Tanghdar.

They identified the deceased as Abdul Qadeer son of Yaqoob Chak (55), Tabir Ahmad Chak son of Abdul Qadeer Chak (26) and Qari Nawaz Ahmad Chak son of Ali Asgar Chak (22).

The injured were identified as Mohd Irshad (30) son of Ali Asgar and Sakeena Begum (45) wife of Abdul Hamid Joo.

A top police official also confirmed it and said that the injured were shifted to Sub District hospital Tangdhar for treatment.

“A case under relevant sections of law has been registered and further investigations were taken up,” he said.
