SRINAGAR: At least three members of a nomad family are believed to have been killed when aq wall collapsed and rolled over the tent they were living in. One person who has survived is injured.
The incident was reported from Noorpora in Tral. The area witnessed soil erosion that now looks like a mudslide owing to massive rains. The tent, however, came under a wall that collapsed.
Authorities said they have reached the spot and are removing the debris. “It actually took place when a wall fell on the shed, Aamir Ali said in Srinagar. “We have removed one of them to SMHJS Srinagar and many others were rescued other than the three who died.” The temporary settlement has been shifted to a local school.
The dead included two women and a male member. The family belonged to Irshad Ahmad Bargud. Though the entire family was rescued live, three of them died in the hospital. The deceased have been identified Irshad Bargud son of Abdul Gani, Mahnaz Akhter daughter of Abdul Qayoom and Wahab Jan wife of Abdul Gafoor, all residents of Reasi.
Ali said they all belonged to Reasi and were working locally. The village is in mourning right now.
