Three Drug Peddlers Arrested, Contraband Seized

   

SRINAGAR: Jammu Kashmir Police arrested three alleged drug peddlers in Kulgam and recovered a substantial quantity of contraband from their possession.

A police team led by the Incharge Police Post Mirbazar, under the supervision of Additional SP NHW Qazigund Kulgam, intercepted three suspects during routine patrolling at Baghi Sakloo, Mirbazar. Upon personal search, officers recovered 80 grams of charas and 2.7 kilograms of wet cannabis leaves.

The accused were identified as Zahid Bashir Bhat, son of Bashir Ahmad Bhat of Bonpora Nambal, Anantnag; Aidal Ahmad Wani, son of Mohd Iqbal Wani of Khandaypora Krangsoo, Anantnag; and Razwan Ahmad Itoo, son of Nazir Ahmad Itoo of Hangalpahlo, Pahalgam.

Police said a case has been registered under FIR No. 201/2025 at Police Station Qazigund and investigation has commenced.

Authorities urged the public to report any drug peddling or criminal activity to the nearest police unit or dial 112, assuring that stringent action would continue against offenders to combat the drug menace in society.
