Police on Thursday claimed to have arrested three drug peddlers and recovered eight kilograms of poppy straw from their possession.
A police spokesperson in a statement said that acting on information, Kulgam police headed by SHO Qazigund intercepted a Toyota Etios vehicle bearing registration number PB11BB-7699 during a naka checking in their jurisdiction.
“On checking the vehicle, eight kilograms of poppy straw was recovered from the possession of Paramjeet Singh son of Ram Lal, Honey Chahdal son of Daram veer and Jogi Singh son of Mohan Lal, all residents of Hoshiarpur Punjab,” the spokesman said.
“A case FIR number 177/2018 under section 279, 337, 427 RPC, 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered and the investigation has been taken up,” said Police spokesman in a statement.
