Sopore Police on Monday claimed to have arrested three “notorious drug peddlers” from different locations and recovered contraband substances from their possession.

A police spokesman in a  statement said, “acting on a specific information,  Police Station Tarzoo arrested a notorious drug peddler namely Muzaffar Ahmad Marazi son of Mohammad Akbar Marazi resident of Sofi Hamam Sopore and recovered 93 bottles of ONEREX  from his possession.”

Accordingly, a case FIR No. 75/2018 under section 8/22 NDPS Act was registered in Police Station Tarzoo, said police spokesperson.

The spokesman said that two more drug peddlers were arrested by Police Station Sopore namely Asif Majeed Shiekh son of  Abdul  Majeed Shiekh resident of Chinkipora Sopore and Tahir Ahmad Malik son of  Mohammad Amin  Malik resident of Sheikh Sahab  Arampora Sopore and recovered 10 bottles of ONEREX  and 750 tablets Of ALPRAZOLAM  from their possession.

“In this regard, a case FIR number 230/2018 under section 8/22 NPDS ACT was registered in Police Station Sopore and investigation taken up,” said police spokesman in a statement.
