SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Police has attached three double-storied residential houses worth approximately RS 71,58,010 belonging to notorious drug peddlers in Awantipora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district, Police said here on Monday.

The drug peddlers as per police have been identified as Shabir Ahmad Parray, son of Kamal Parray, resident of Chersoo, Awantipora, Manzoor Ahmad Bhat, son of Gh Ahmad Bhat, resident of Chersoo, and Ishfaq Amin Bhat, son of Mohd Amin Bhat, resident of Chersoo.

The immovable properties were seized under section 68-F of NDPS Act 1985. The investigation, led by SHO Police Station Awantipora, Inspector Zahoor Ahmad, supervised by SP Mumtaz Ali Bhatti (SDPO Awantipora), identified these properties as proceeds from illegal drug trafficking activities of the accused.

“Shabir Ahmad Parray is implicated in FIRs: I. 41/2010 under U/S 18 NDPS Act of PS Awantipora, II. 54/2023 under U/S 8/20-29 NDPS Act of PS Awantipora. Similarly, Manzoor Ahmad Bhat is involved in FIR: I. 54/2023 under U/S 8/20-29 NDPS Act PS Awantipora. And Ishfaq Amin Bhat is linked to FIRs: I. 183/2010 under U/S 8/20 NDPS Act of PS Awantipora, II. 197/2016 under U/S 15/18 NDPS Act of PS Awantipora, III. 51/2020 under U/S 8/20 NDPS Act of PS Awantipora,” the police said.

“All three accused are currently detained under PIT-NDPS Act at Central Jail Kot Balwal, Jammu,” the police added.
