SRINAGAR: The Government of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday ordered the promotion of three Inspectors (Ministerial) as Deputy Superintendents of Police (Ministerial) in the Home Department.
According to Government Order No. 320-Home of 2026, issued on June 1, 2026, the promoted officers will be placed in Level-8 of the Pay Matrix (Rs 47,600–Rs 1,51,100) with immediate effect.
The order, issued under the authority of the Lieutenant Governor, states that the promotions will remain subject to the outcome of any writ petitions pending before competent courts.
The promoted officers are Farooq Ahmad Rather (PID No. MEG891718), Bashir Ahmad (PID No. MEG891238), and Ghulam Nabi Bhat (PID No. MEG891286).
As per official references cited in the order, the promotions were cleared following inputs from the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission and the Criminal Investigation Department.
