SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday claimed to have arrested three associates of militants belonging to LeT outfit in Shangergund area of north Kashmir’s Sopore.

A police spokesman in a statement said, “Sopore Police along with 22 RR and CRPF 179 Bn have arrested three militant associates in a joint operation at Shangergund area of Police District Sopore.”

“They have been identified as Mushtaq Ahmad Mir son of Abdul Gaffar Mir, Mudasir Ahmad Mir son of Mohd Hamza Mir and Athar Shamas Mir son of Shams-u-din Mir all residents of Brath Kalan Sopore,” he said.

“Incriminating materials including arms and ammunition were recovered from their possession,” he added.

“Case FIR No. 125/2020 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Sopore and further investigation has been initiated,” said the spokesman.
