SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Police have identified the three slain militants who were killed in overnight encounters across Kashmir since Thursday evening. One incident took place in Srinagar and another in south Kashmir Kulgam.

Two militants were killed in Kulgam. They were identified as District commander of Hizb ul Mujahideen, Shiraz Molvi and Yawar Bhat. Police said they have recovered the body early morning even though the search operation continues.
The gunbattle had started in Chawalgam village in the Kulgam outskirts on Thursday when a cordon and search operation was launched by the army and police.

In Bemina, police said they have killed a militant. In a tweet, the police spokesman has identified the slain militants as Aamir Riyaz of Khrew (Pulwama). Police said he was a member of the proscribed outfit Mujahideen Gazwatul Hind.
