Three minor students and two middle-aged men were injured after being attacked by a pack of stray dogs in Uri town of Baramulla district in north Kashmir on Monday.

An eyewitness said that a pack of dogs appeared in Uri Town today morning and attacked many people. In the incident, three students and two elderly persons were bitten and left injured, he said, adding that the canines have spread a reign of terror among school going children in the area.

Soon after the incident, all five injured persons were shifted to Sub-District-hospital Uri for the treatment.

The injured persons were identified as Nargis Bano (18), Sayra Bano (8) Abdul Wahid (10), Reyaz Ahmed (45) and Ashok Kumar (40) year.

According to a local resident,  the dog biting incidents were reported from Boniyar and Uranbowa areas of the town earlier also, however, there was no action taken by the authorities despite repeated pleas by the residents.
