Police and local administration in Ramban district have intensified the efforts to trace the missing passengers, feared dead, who were washed away in Bishlarinullah after passengers vehicle plunged into a deep gorge on Thursday forenoon.

SSP Traffic Highway, Zubair Ahmad Khan said that police and local administration is on the job to trace the missing passengers.

“We have intensified our efforts to trace the missing passengers. Hopefully, they will be located,” Khan said.

Three missing persons who were washed away in the Bishlarinullah waters were identified as Abdur Rehman Mir, Muhammad Hussain Mir and Muhammad Ashraf Bhat—all residents of Shopian.

However, the administration has not declared the passengers dead as yet, saying that the final word could be said once the police locates the missing passengers.

Eight passengers were travelling in a Cab bearing registration number JK03-8881, when the cab, on way from Shopian to Jammu, skidded off the road and plunged into a deep gorge at Ramsoo in Ramban district.

Police has identified the dead as Haajat Mir, son of Naseer Mir, and Sikander Mir, both residents of Chak-e-Syedpora Shopian. (KNS)
