SRINAGAR: Panic gripped the Transport Nagar area of Narwal in Jammu on Wednesday after three mortar shells were found lying there.
A senior police officer said that the explosive shells were spotted by locals in the Transport Nagar locality, after which the police were immediately informed.
The Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) was called to the scene to inspect and neutralise the threat, he said.
The shells were old and appeared to have been dumped at the site, but further examination was underway, the officer added. (JKNS)
