Srinagar police in its recent action arrested three drug peddlers and a huge quantity of Charas was seized from their possession.

Police spokesman said that one person identified as Muzaffar Ahmad Misger, son of Abdul Rashid Misger, a resident of Khunmoh Srinagar was arrested for the drug supply offences. He has been taken to Police Station Pantha Chowk where he remains in custody. Officers at the checkpoint have seized 2.5 kilograms of charas from his possession.

In this regard, a case FIR No. 32/2019 under relevant sections of law has been registered and investigation has been taken up.

Another person identified as Khursheed Ahmad Dar son of Ghulam Nabi Dar resident of Tulkhan Bijbehara Anantnag was also arrested.

Police at the checkpoint intercepted a Baleno car bearing registration number JK03G-6864. On checking, 01 Kilogram of charas concealed in a bag was recovered, the spokesman said.

In this regard, a case FIR No 50/2019 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Soura and initiated investigations in the matter.

The initial investigation has revealed that the accused was involved in peddling drugs to youngsters in the city for a long time.

In another incident, a person identified as Amir Ali Hakeem @Ama Kala son of Ali Mohammad resident of Aaram Masjid Khanyar was arrested for drug supply offences. He has been taken to Police Station Khanyar where he remains in custody. 130 grams of Charas was seized from his possession during the police check at Khanyar Chowk,

In this regard, a case FIR No 29/2019 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Khanyar and investigation has been taken up.

Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
