Three Sarpanches were booked by police for ransacking the offices of the Assistant Development Commissioner Islamabad and Block Development Officer Qazigund.
Assistant Commissioner Development Islamabad, Abdul Hamid Wani told CNS that few Sarpanchas and Panchas are averse of development in Qazigund and reasons are better known to them.
“These village representatives frequently raised hue and cry over petty matters and even threatened officials of dire consequences. We lodged a formal complaint and accordingly Qazigund police arrested three Sarpanchas,” he said.
The trio has been identified as Sarpanch Panzat, Bilal Ahmed Deva, Sarpanch Saransoo Javid Ahmed Shiekh and Sarpanch Yurikhushipora Muhammad Setha.
“A case vide FIR number 238/2013 under section 353, 427 and 451 of RPC was registered against them,” a police official said. (CNS)
