Three army men who were missing have succumbed while as five others were rescued near LOC after an avalanche hit an army post in Batalik sector of Kargil on Thursday, reports said.

As floods have inundated many parts of Kashmir valley, it is snowing in Ladakh region.
After the avalanche army launched a search operation to trace the missing soldiers.
Officials said that the missing soldiers were retrieved from the snow but they had succumbed.
“Out of three soldiers missing, two retrieved; unfortunately succumbed,” tweeted Northern Command of army.
The search for third one continued but as per the latest reports, he too has succumbed.
