SRINAGAR: A three-year-old boy died after being hit by a tempo in the Sullah area of Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday evening, reports said.
The child, identified as Bahar Din, son of Abdul Qayoom and a resident of Sonchal Gali Dharmari in Tehsil Thuroo, was seriously injured in the incident, an official said.
According to the reports, the accident occurred when the tempo was travelling from Reasi towards Jammu and struck the child.
Bahar Din was taken to District Hospital Reasi, where doctors declared him brought dead.
Authorities have taken cognisance of the incident and initiated a probe into the circumstances leading to the accident.
