SRINAGAR: A three-year-old boy drowned in a canal in the Karnah area of North Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Thursday.
An official said that a minor boy namely Mehran Ahmad (03) son of Syed Fayaz Gillani resident of Chamkote drowned in a canal at Chamkote Karnah while he was playing.
He said that after completing all the legal formalities, his dead body was handed over to legal heirs for last rites.
Meanwhile, police have taken cognizance of the incideent and started investigation.(KS)
