60 Ft. timber was confiscated along with the arrest of five persons for allegedly smuggling the green gold in north Kashmir’s Baderkal Handwara.

According to the KNS, after receiving a tip off Range officer Abdul Qayoom Malla directed the team led by BO Baderkal Manzoor Ahmad who created check points to check the smuggle of illegal timber.

Later 60 ft timber along with the arrest of five persons namely Anwar Khan, Gul Ganaie, Mohammad Shafi, Rasool Dar and Bilal Khan.

A case was registered in the police station Handwara with Fir No 05/2015 under section 06 forest act.

Locals in the area have hailed the efforts of the govt authorities in putting lid over the plunder of green gold.
