Timber Smuggler Detained Under PSA in South Kashmir, Shifted to Udhampur Jail

   

SRINAGAR: Police in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district have detained a notorious forest smuggler under the Public Safety Act (PSA).

The accused, identified as Adil Ahmad Padder alias “Pushpa”, son of Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Padder and a resident of Larnoo, was detained following a formal order issued by the District Magistrate, Anantnag.

Officials said the accused is a habitual offender involved in multiple cases of illicit timber smuggling, posing a serious threat to forest resources and environmental protection in the region.

Acting on the detention order, Anantnag Police executed the warrant and shifted the accused to District Jail Udhampur.

Police said the action reflects their commitment to curb forest-related crimes and protect natural resources, adding that strict legal measures will continue against individuals involved in such illegal activities.
