Speaking at a one-day worker’s convention in Kunzar, Tangmarg, Gulmarg constituency, organized by constituency in charge Farooq Shah, Abdullah lamented the suspension of the sentence for the culprits involved in the fake encounter in Amshipora, Shopian. He stated, “Every time we are reminded that our blood is cheap and has no value. The army officer who killed three youths in a fake encounter has not only been released but his sentence has also been suspended. This is nothing but a travesty of justice.”

Abdullah continued, asserting that New Delhi disregards the sentiments of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. He criticized the differential treatment, highlighting the release of an army officer, tried in court martial for killing three innocent youths from Rajouri. He emphasized the government’s autonomy, expressing concern over houses being bulldozed and employees dismissed at will.

Addressing conspiratorial elements, Abdullah urged people to weed them out during elections, whenever held. He noted significant changes in J&K since 2019, citing the erosion of autonomy, flag, and democratic rights, while hostile forces continue to plot against the region’s unique identity.

Abdullah accused a former MLA from Gulmarg of being involved in various conspiracies orchestrated by New Delhi. He highlighted incidents in 1984, 1999, and 2019, asserting the need to eliminate such elements for the restoration of identity and dignity.

Terming the central government’s claims of peace and order, construction and development, employment and prosperity in Jammu and Kashmir as mere lies and deceit, Omar Abdullah said that in 2019, when the special status of Jammu and Kashmir was revoked, it was said that the youth would get Job orders. “It has been more than 4 years today and we are forced to ask where is the peace and order? Where is the progress?

Where is the prosperity, in which youths got orders for government jobs, here even those who are already doing jobs are being fired. Today, our employees are being asked to prove how they got the job, otherwise they will be fired,” he said.
