Following the protests and clashes after Udhampur communal Hindu mob attack victim, Zahid Rasool Bhat, died on Sunday, the district administration of South Kashmir’s Islamabad district has enforced section 144.

Top official sources said, “to maintain law and order, authorities have decided to enforces section 144 of RPC which bars assembling of four or more than four persons at a single place.” “No one shall be allowed to disturb peace in the district.”

Zahid died in Safdarjung hospital on Sunday. Severe clashes and anti-India protests rocked Islamabad district while Kashmir and Chenab Valley observed a complete shutdown on Monday.

JKLF chief, Javaid Mir and others were thrashed by CRPF on Tuesday when the separatist leaders were leaving the residence of Zahid at Botengoo. The thrashing of the separatist leaders witnessed heavy protests in the area while Srinagar parts shut in protest and clashes erupted in Maisuma and adjoining areas.
