Authorities Monday imposed restrictions in parts of Srinagar city to prevent proposed protest march to Lal Chowk called by the resistance leadership.

Although section 144 of the CrPc (Criminal Procedure Code) is already in force in Srinagar, police officials said that restrictions have been imposed around Lal Chowk area to “maintain law and order”.

United resistance leadership including, Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik  are scheduled to lead a protest march to Lal Chowk later today.

All the three leaders have been put under house arrest at their respective residences.
