SRINAGAR: ETS, one of the world’s largest nonprofit organisation focusing on educational assessment, research, and measurement, and the entity behind assessments like TOEFL and GRE, has revealed its inaugural test center in the Kashmir Valley.
The new test center will be established at Hashtag Educational Services, situated at Regal Chowk, Srinagar.
This marks the first instance of a global assessment organisation establishing a dedicated testing facility in this locale, effectively addressing the substantial requirement of local students who aspire to pursue higher education on an international scale.
During the unveiling, Sachin Jain, the Country Manager for ETS India & South Asia, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “We are thrilled to collaborate with Hashtag Educational Services to inaugurate a world-class testing center in Kashmir, marking our first endeavor in the Valley. This venture offers substantial convenience for those aspiring to study abroad.”
He further commented, “Our diverse educational initiatives, which encompass global assessments, English language proficiency evaluations spanning from K-12 to college level, skill enhancement, and assessment services, underscore our dedication to invest in India, expediting its transformation into a global hub of knowledge.”
Previously, students from the region were compelled to journey to the neighboring state of Punjab to partake in TOEFL and GRE assessments. The newly established testing center not only obviates the need for time-consuming travel but also embodies ETS’s commitment to empowering students and reinforcing the local study abroad ecosystem in Kashmir.
The center boasts cutting-edge amenities and enforces stringent test security measures to guarantee a seamless testing experience for both TOEFL and GRE candidates. In light of this development, ETS India intends to intensify collaboration with agents and educational institutions in the Kashmir area, in order to provide support for local students embarking on their study abroad endeavors.
