The protesting casual labourers said that they have not been paid since July 2014 despite continuing their service to the department.

President of the Kashmir Tourism Department Casual Labours Union TRC said that we are facing a financial crisis on a daily basis as our wages are pending in the department for the last six years.

“We requested our director and department many times but nobody heard us. Orders were released but no attention paid to them,” he said.

The casual Labours said that the government should implement the Minimum Wages Act policy across Jammu and Kashmir and all the casual Labours will get benefit through this policy.

The protesting casual labourers request the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to look into the matter and release their wages and regularize their services.
