Jammu and Kashmir Tourism department kick started its tourism promotion for the year 2020 with the participation in the 27th edition of travel and trade engagement show, SATTE, at Greater Noida, New Delhi.

Tourism dept participates in Travel Show SATTE at New Delhi

The 3-day B2B travel trade expo has witnessed a tremendous response from the industry with participation from over 1100 exhibitors and representation from over 50 countries and 90 cities from across India.

The team lead by Director Tourism Kashmir Nisar Ahmad Wani participated in the event to showcase J&K vast tourism potential. Director Tourism Jammu Deepika K Sharma, Deputy Secretary Tourism Waseem Raja are also part of J&K Tourism Department’s official delegation at SATTE.

This year the department has diligently used its space and decorated the pavilion to showcase every tourism product of the each destination of Jammu and Kashmir.

Director Tourism Kashmir said J&K is one of the prime tourist destinations of the country which needs to be promoted at bigger travel trade expos within and outside the country.

“SATTE is one of the biggest platforms for the tourism boards and travel trade sector to showcase their products and also get networking opportunities. We got the opportunity to interact with the travel trade leaders from across the globe and informed them about the J&K’s tourism products especially new destinations which we want to promote,” he said.

During the show, many panel discussions were also held on various topics like Global Economic Scenario, Tourism Trends and India, Adventure Tourism, Unlocking New Avenues.

Director Tourism said that besides promoting prime tourist resorts, the department will also showcase winter tourism, snow sports activities and adventure tourism which has huge tourism potential in J&K.

Hundreds of the participants visited the J&K Pavilion where tourism department officials distributed them brochures and other publicity material of every tourist resorts. The travel agents, hoteliers, houseboat owners and other destination management companies from J&K also promoted their companies and offered various packages to the visitors and encouraged them to visit J&K.

The department provided each travel, hotel, houseboat associations free table space at its pavilion at SATTE so that their members can avail the space and promote their tour packages.
